Summary Rosina is trapped in the home of her guardian, Doctor Bartolo, is desperate to escape into the arms of an adoring student. The student is actually Count Almaviva in disguise. But the Count's manservant, Figaro, is on hand to outwit both the protective Bartolo and his lustful friend, music teacher Don Basilio. In the meantime housekeeper Berta is left to summarize exactly what she thinks of old men with their sights set on marrying their young wards.
