Summary In this minimalist wordless observational film from footage gathered in the course of her travels throughout the former eastern bloc from East Germany, across Poland and the Baltic states, to Moscow, filmmaker Akerman created a still, solemn depiction of the twilight of Soviet society shortly after the 1990's collapse of the Soviet Union.
