Mindfulness Nurses Instruction : The art of communication in nursing and health care : an interdisciplinary approach / Theresa Raphael-Grimm ; acquisitions editor, Margaret Zuccarini.
Mineral -- See Minerals Native, inorganic or fossilized organic substances having a definite chemical composition and formed by inorganic reactions. They may occur as individual crystals or may be disseminated in some other mineral or rock. (Grant & Hackh's Chemical Dictionary, 5th ed; McGraw-Hill Dictionary of Scientific and Technical Terms, 4th ed)
Mineral Fibers -- See Also Pneumoconiosis A diffuse parenchymal lung disease caused by inhalation of dust and by tissue reaction to their presence. These inorganic, organic, particulate, or vaporized matters usually are inhaled by workers in their occupational environment, leading to the various forms (ASBESTOSIS; BYSSINOSIS; and others). Similar air pollution can also have deleterious effects on the general population.
Mineral Fibers Toxicity : A review of the NIOSH roadmap for research on asbestos fibers and other elongate mineral particles / Committee for the Review of the NIOSH Research Roadmap on Asbestos Fibers and Other Elongate Mineral Particles ; Alan R. Nelson, Catharyn T. Liverman, Elizabeth A. Eide, Eileen Abt, editors ; Institute of Medicine and National Research Council of the National Academies.
Minerals Chemistry : The Role of the Chemical Sciences in Finding Alternatives to Critical Resources : a workshop summary / Douglas Friedman, Tina Masciangioli, and Steve Olson, rapporteurs, Chemical Sciences Roundtable, Board on Chemical Sciences and Technology, Division on Earth and Life Studies, National Research Council of the National Academies.
Minerals Therapeutic Use : Sefer ko'aḥ ha-avanim = On the virtue of the stones : Hebrew text and English translation : with a lexicological analysis of the romance terminology and source study / Berakhyah Ben Natronai ha-Nakdan ; edited, translated, and annotated by Gerrit Bos and Julia Zwink.
Miniaturization -- See Also Microchemistry The development and use of techniques and equipment to study or perform chemical reactions, with small quantities of materials, frequently less than a milligram or a milliliter.
Minimal Brain Dysfunction -- See Attention Deficit Disorder with Hyperactivity A behavior disorder originating in childhood in which the essential features are signs of developmentally inappropriate inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. Although most individuals have symptoms of both inattention and hyperactivity-impulsivity, one or the other pattern may be predominant. The disorder is more frequent in males than females. Onset is in childhood. Symptoms often attenuate during late adolescence although a minority experience the full complement of symptoms into mid-adulthood. (From DSM-V)
Minimal Residual Disease -- See Neoplasm, Residual Remnant of a tumor or cancer after primary, potentially curative therapy.
Minimally Conscious State -- See Persistent Vegetative State Vegetative state refers to the neurocognitive status of individuals with severe brain damage, in whom physiologic functions (sleep-wake cycles, autonomic control, and breathing) persist, but awareness (including all cognitive function and emotion) is abolished.
Minimum Inhibitory Concentration -- See Microbial Sensitivity Tests Any tests that demonstrate the relative efficacy of different chemotherapeutic agents against specific microorganisms (i.e., bacteria, fungi, viruses).
Mining Handbooks : Mine rescue manual : a comprehensive guide for mine rescue team members / Chris Enright and Robert L. Ferrier.
Mining History : Mercury, Mining, and Empire : the Human and Ecological Cost of Colonial Silver Mining in the Andes.
Mining Legislation And Jurisprudence : Uranium mining in Virginia : scientific, technical, environmental, human health and safety, and regulatory aspects of uranium mining and processing in Virginia / Committee on Uranium Mining in Virginia, Committee on Earth Resources, Board on Earth Sciences and Resources, Division on Earth and Life Studies, National Research Council of the National Academies.
Minisatellite Repeats -- See Also DNA Fingerprinting A technique for identifying individuals of a species that is based on the uniqueness of their DNA sequence. Uniqueness is determined by identifying which combination of allelic variations occur in the individual at a statistically relevant number of different loci. In forensic studies, RESTRICTION FRAGMENT LENGTH POLYMORPHISM of multiple, highly polymorphic VNTR LOCI or MICROSATELLITE REPEAT loci are analyzed. The number of loci used for the profile depends on the ALLELE FREQUENCY in the population.
Mink Encephalopathy Virus -- See Prions Small proteinaceous infectious particles which resist inactivation by procedures that modify NUCLEIC ACIDS and contain an abnormal isoform of a cellular protein which is a major and necessary component. The abnormal (scrapie) isoform is PrPSc (PRPSC PROTEINS) and the cellular isoform PrPC (PRPC PROTEINS). The primary amino acid sequence of the two isoforms is identical. Human diseases caused by prions include CREUTZFELDT-JAKOB SYNDROME; GERSTMANN-STRAUSSLER SYNDROME; and INSOMNIA, FATAL FAMILIAL.
Mink Nutritional Requirements : Nutrient requirements of mink and foxes / Subcommittee on Furbearer Nutrition, Committee on Animal Nutrition, Board on Agriculture and Renewable Resources, National Research Council.
Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory -- See MMPI A personality inventory consisting of statements to be asserted or denied by the individual. The patterns of response are characteristic of certain personality attributes.
Minority Groups Education United States : Assessment of NIH minority research and training programs : phase 3 / Committee for the Assessment of NIH Minority Research Training Programs ; Oversight Committee for the Assessment of NIH Minority Research Training Programs ; Board on Higher Education and Workforce ; Policy and Global Affairs ; National Research Council of the National Academies.
